Duathlon 2019 vs High March & Pipers Corner
Rain did its best to stop play, and although real bikes were replaced with a static bike station owing to the slippery nature of the course, the event went ahead with plenty of fun, exciting and determined racing.
Seventy-eight competitors took part across five year groups, with each competitor starting in the ‘bike shed’ to complete 500m (Year 4 and 5) or 750m (Year 6, 7, and 8) before tagging their next team mate and setting off on the run section. Competitors overcame that ‘jelly-legs’ feeling as they got off the bikes to start their running, but quickly got into their stride to complete the laps before turning into the home straight.
Congratulations to all participants; the effort, teamwork and sportsmanship across all three schools was outstanding!
