A RIBA Success
Our new Pre-Prep and Junior School has been recognised in the prestigious RIBA South Awards.
The Jubilee Building was one of 65 varied projects that were considered by a panel of acclaimed architects looking for architectural excellence, sustainability and a building that is brought to life by creative and innovative design. That is certainly the case at Davenies where nearly 200 boys aged from Reception – Year 3 are able to enjoy light, airy classrooms with immediate access to outdoor spaces, large terraces where learning can be taken outside and a basement hall that opens onto the Dell playground – a space that is fondly remembered by generations of Old Davenians.
The Award was presented by Wendy Perring, the Chair of the RIBA South Jury, at a ceremony at Ascot Racecourse. The presentation was made to architects Martin Pearson and Isabel Moreira from DSDHA who designed the Jubilee Building and Caroline Purdom, Bursar at Davenies School.
The project will now be considered for the National Awards later this year.
