A super-hero mufti day
Never has Davenies seen so many Batmans and Supermans alongside so many other superheroes all in one day at Davenies as we held a mufti day in aid of BBC’s Children in Need. Thank you to so many people for giving of their time and energy: we raised a fantastic £1206.
Phil Prosser, John Sayers and Henry Cripps collected donations at the Sainsbury’s Gate where, as always, the parents of Davenies boys were generous. Lots of very kind parents refusing change is always welcome!
A special mention must go to Phil 'Captain America' Prosser as he has been on the ’stall’ every year so far, and a big welcome to John 'the original 60’s Batman' Sayers. Superhero day was great fun and a big thank you must go to both boys and parents at Davenies for helping contribute to this wonderful cause every year. A big thank you also to Liz David who had a raffle at a mum’s coffee morning and handed Henry Cripps an envelope stuffed with cash donations.
£811.40 was raised on the Thursday pick-up and Friday drop-off. £395 was collected from mufti during the day, which means a grand total of £1206.40 was raised for Children in Need this year. A fantastic result – thank you to everyone.
