An insight into the world of script writing
Our Year 4 boys today had a great insight into how to write a script from a children's television favourite, Giles Pilbrow. Among other programmes, Giles is known for writing CBBC's Horrible Histories (series 1-5), Gory Games and Scream Street.
During the workshop Giles was keen to emphasise that whilst creativity is spoken about a lot, it simply means having an idea and pursuing it without fear of it being wrong or bad, a point which the boys took on board.
There was a chance to chat through the process by which a script turns into the finished animated show and discuss the many skills and intricacies involved throughout. This opened up the boys’ minds to the range of career opportunities which they could pursue if they ever decide to follow this path.
