Aims:
- To encourage children to develop an understanding of the past and its relevance to the present.
- To develop children’s understanding of history and the impact it has on the world today.
- To develop children’s curiosity and their ability to question “Why?”.
- To develop children’s investigative skills and encourage them to develop their own theories.
- To use historical evidence to create “the truth”.
- To give children the chance to experience history “hands-on” through off-site trips and incoming visitors.
- To foster cross-curricular links with other subjects to take history out of the classroom.
