At Davenies we believe that ICT is an integral part of school life. The Department's aims and objectives, therefore, reflect this.
At Davenies we:
- seek to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum ensuring continuity, differentiation and progression.
- believe that fluency in the use of ICT is as important as fluency in language and number; this it is equally important for pupils and staff.
- believe that ICT has become the most efficient medium for finding and using information as part of the learning process.
- enable pupils to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information.
- ensure that all pupils have opportunities to use computers whenever it can make learning more effective, regardless of year group or subject area.
- believe that ICT skills are a major factor in enabling children to be confident, creative and independent learners.
- support, assist and encourage staff to feel confident about their ability to use ICT in all aspects of their professional work.
- shall seek new developments and integrate these, if appropriate, into the curriculum.
- have a programme of continuing hardware and software improvement.
