Getting on board with England’s training session
A fantastic, last minute opportunity came our way in the form of spectating a full England rugby team training session at St. Edward’s School, Oxford. Sixteen boys waited patiently pitch-side, as the England squad, with Georgia, were put through some super-slick, high tempo, conditioned exercises. Alongside Eddie Jones were his full coaching team including Will Carling and drafted in for the occasion, international referee, Wayne Barnes. Despite their combined experience, however, they could do nothing to stop the occasional fracas between the two front rows boiling over! The boys were allowed onto the training ground to help clear the equipment and were rewarded with signatures and photographs with many of the players. The pictures speak for themselves.
Those supporting England will be hoping that Davenies’ presence today will give them luck next weekend as they take on Italy.
Mr Thomas resisted the urge to wear his Welsh rugby top, whilst Mr Allen called a few amber moves from the touchline that Eddie seemed quite pleased with!
