Hark! The FoDs Christmas Market
The annual Christmas Market brought joy and good cheer to Davenies on a fittingly frosty afternoon.
The Junior Handbells team set the Christmas tone, performing festive favourites, including Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls. The impressive Parent Choir got everyone into the Christmas spirit with further music accompaniment, singing other well-known Carols, expertly conducted by Mrs Suggett. Mulled wine and hot chocolate kept the School community warm as everyone gathered in the shopping grotto to browse the delights on offer and purchase gifts for loved ones. Novelty hats, sweet treats and homemade gift tags were a-plenty and sure to be on the Christmas lists of many!
The beautiful Christmas Hamper was as popular as always and managed to raise more than ever before with proceeds supporting this year’s House charities: Greenfingers, Hospice UK, Shelter and Tiggywinkles.
Of course, none of it could have been possible without the Davenies Elves: Mr Gudge and the Facilities Team, the Kitchen staff, Mrs Watson and the Music Department, Head of Art Mrs Newell, Mrs Tennant (Akele) and the Cubs, Shakleton House and last, but by no means least, the Friends of Davenies. What a magical way to kick off the festive season!
