Hybrid Activities Programme Launches!
Our extra-curricular Activities programme was back with a bang as on-site the boys enjoyed early morning swim sessions, year group specific Music ensembles, non-contact Judo, tennis, badminton, football and Cubs, with the Digital Activities programme also available through Microsoft Teams.
As we adjust to the new normal, our extra-curricular programme within the Prep School has been adjusted to provide an on- and off-site offering. The main reason for this is, of course, the health and safety of all boys and staff as we continue to deliver a wide range of enrichment opportunities whilst observing the procedures that are in place to keep us all safe. The majority of Clubs remain on Microsoft Teams for the Autumn Term through our Digital Activities programme, with main exceptions being sporting and musical activities available to each year group and supervised on-site with staggered start and end times, in line with the boys’ school day.
Activities on offer include the Davenies’ Award Scheme (DAS) for boys in Years 7 and 8, running on alternate weeks for each year group; gymnastics for Years 3 and 4 on alternate weeks; Cubs four nights of the week; year group specific Music ensembles; and of course, Digital Activities, which continues as a flexible offering that pupils can opt into on any day, including Saturday and Sunday. New activities within each Club will be uploaded at the start of each week.
Extra-curricular Activities contribute significantly to personal, social and educational development and we are committed to offering a wide variety for boys to take part in at Davenies. The Activities programme symbolises our aim to provide a balanced, all-round education, allowing the boys to develop their potential, confidence and self-esteem along the way.
