Middle & Senior Sports Day
Monday saw the Middle & Senior school take part in their annual sports day. Parents and staff watched on as the boys gave everything for their houses across a range of athletic disciplines on what was a sunny but mild day. Fortunately, the conditions were ideal and allowed for some very impressive performances. All of the boys competed with real effort and enthusiasm, however, a special mention must go out to two boys who set new school records; Ethan Horne threw a whopping 48.43m in the Year 6 Vortex event, whilst Travis Lewis set a time of 11.2 seconds in the Hurdles. Congratulations to both, who will see their names in the record books… for a year at least!
The house relay provided all teams a last chance to earn valuable points and potentially get their hands on the Sports Day Cup. There was plenty of excitement and the opportunity for some staff members to aid their teams and show off their speed and agility!
Shackleton saw off close competition from Cook to claim the trophy with an outstanding overall score of 478.
A massive well-done to everyone involved and good luck to those boys leaving us with their athletics in the future.
