Music to our ears
The Summer Concert arrived and with it, the sunshine. An event that’s always much anticipated by the boys, staff and audience alike, encapsulated a year of Music at Davenies and the performances at this year’s concert demonstrated just how far the boys have progressed.
The audience were thoroughly entertained by a variety of performances; from The Junior Handbells with their rendition of Never smile at a crocodile through to the Jazz Band’s step back in time with the Baby Elephant Walk, whilst enjoying a picnic on the Headmaster’s Lawn along with a glass of fizz. Our leavers; Charlie, Tilak, Archie, Joey and Matty did a fine job of exhibiting their musical prowess with solo performances and the various ensembles, some of whom had our youngest musicians as members did themselves proud with their performances. And not forgetting the Friends of Davenies choir who delighted with their enchanting version of King of the Swingers. Such fun!
A wonderful evening to round off a wonderful year of music at Davenies.
