Sports Nut Swimathon
24 hours, 364 km to swim – this was the Challenge local coaching company Sports Nut set their clients, friends, family and members of the Davenies staff.
With a big countdown at 5:00 in the Davenies Swimming Pool, with Sports Nut founder Mark Tennant and Beaconsfield Mayor, Councillor Sandy Saunders, the Swimathon began with widths to get the total rolling.
During the evening, the lane ropes cam out as lengths began to rack up the metres swum. Davenies own ladies team donned costumes at 7:00 and added 174 lengths to the total. At 6:15 on Saturday morning, the men added a further 379 lengths.
After 24 hours of constant swimming, Sports founder David Small announced on the Twitter that the total swum was a whopping and impressive 394 km – well done to everyone involved.
