The Annual Art Exhibition
The Annual Art Exhibition had an added element of excitement this week when a visit from an ice cream van offered the crowd much needed refreshments on a hot day. The ice cream van was in celebration of Year 5’s study on Wayne Thiebaud and Claes Oldenberg, the work from which brought a seasonal flavour to this year’s exhibition.
The standard of the art this year has been exceptional, with a greater, more varied range of art work. Our boys have worked hard, shown great enthusiasm and perseverance when new mediums and techniques have challenged them, challenges which have certainly been met judging by the work completed. Where possible, all work is displayed as it is about the boys being proud of what they have achieved, the boys taking selfies in front of their work certainly demonstrated pride in their work.
The upbeat tones of the Jazz band filled the PAC adding a lovely atmosphere to the occasion, thank you to Mr Gater, Mrs Watson and all our capable musicians for providing entertainment and to Alexander Ramsay our double Art scholar who ably showcased his beautiful works of art and gave a live demonstration to an enthralled crowd.
Thanks go to the Catering team, Facilities team and to a very supportive parental body but especially to our very talented young artists – well done to you all!
