The Wye Valley Zambia Project
We had the pleasure of welcoming Sue Pomeroy to Davenies on Monday to talk to the boys in assembly about her charity. The Wye Valley Zambia Project supports schools in Zambia with a variety of projects they need to accomplish in order to offer and improve education in the country. Children in Zambia aren’t allowed to attend school unless they wear a school uniform which proves very difficult for some. We often end up with surplus uniform in our Second-Hand Uniform Shop that we can’t move onto to the boys at Davenies so happily donate to the project in order to enable a child or children to attend school. This, along with pre-loved tables and chairs have been moved onto a variety of schools in Zambia to supply new classrooms and refurbish existing ones, we are always delighted to help.
Sue gave us a great insight into the journey these items take, the schools they arrive at and the difference they make. All helped along the way by our lovely Facilities team.
