Year 6 rose to the challenge of the Peak District
Year 6 had a spring in their step and the energy needed in order to fulfil their jam packed week of adventure as they set off for the Peak District.
There was no rest for the wicked, upon arrival Monday’s agenda was full with worming, bridge abseiling and weaselling and as if that wasn’t enough the day concluded with a night hike up Mam Tor! Some well needed sleep would be had before another hike, but this time Bleaklow Ridge would be the picturesque destination. Leaving the hiking behind, the midweek activities were more water based on Carsington Water but for those who left their sea legs behind, an opportunity to master rock climbing at Harborough Rocks was also in store. The week ended with a trip to the National Climbing Centre in Sheffield, where a lot fun was had whilst honing those climbing skills.
Downtime saw some friendly rivalry between 6F & 6C, interspersed with much needed re-fuelling and rest.
