“Excellent” judgement by Independent Schools Inspectorate
Earlier this term, Davenies underwent a Focused Compliance and Education Quality inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the body approved by the Secretary of State for the purpose of inspecting schools which are, or whose heads are, members of the associations forming the Independent Schools Council.
Part one of the Report is the Focused Compliance Inspection Report for which there is a possible judgement of ‘met’ or ‘not met’ for each of the standards. Part two is the Educational Quality Inspection Report for which there are two judgements awarded: one for the pupils’ achievements and the other for their personal development. The possible judgements are unsatisfactory, satisfactory, good or excellent.
Davenies has met all of the compliance standards as well as been assessed as excellent for the headline judgements in the education quality report. Headmaster, Carl Rycroft said: ‘We are extremely thrilled with the findings . The report highlights the quality of our pupils’ academic and other achievements as excellent, which is a reflection of the enthusiasm, character, dedication and achievements of both pupils and staff at Davenies.’
