Junior School Embrace Sense of Community
From virtual dance lessons, to scavenger hunts, boys in the Junior School took part in a variety of different interactive activities to help maintain a sense of community.
At Davenies, a sense of community is central to the School’s ethos. Working together and the idea of belonging is actively promoted and during a time of remote learning, boys were able to take part in a dance class via Zoom, complete scavenger hunts in their classes, crack the codes for an escape room, invent new products for the classroom and more!
Whilst they are not all able to be in school together, a fantastic week of collaborative working and learning was had by all…
“I had a brilliant time last week during form activities. My favourite one was Dragon’s Den. We had to invent something that would help students at school. I invented and drew a rucksack. It is a special rucksack as the more your put in it, the lighter it gets. I also liked it when we went on to live calls and played games. I did well in the quiz. It was my favourite week of digital learning.” Harvey Golledge.
“…We did lots of lessons on Zoom like Dragon’s Den, escape rooms, animal charades and scavenger hunts. The one I liked best was animal charades because I pretended to be a dog and it was really funny and it was nice to see my friends.” Alex Warby
“I loved doing the Dragon’s Den! I love how everyone came up with different ideas and we voted for our favourite inventions. I loved it!” Tom Winning
