Davenies Digital Learning
With ongoing challenges owing to Coronavirus (COVID-19), Davenies is committed to providing continuity of education for the boys and so, to this end, our Digital Learning Platform offers the opportunity to deliver a full curriculum remotely where required.
A new timetable has been written for this current lockdown period, and offers the full range of subject teaching to the boys in their normal classes, sets and streams. Whilst Microsoft Teams forms our main platform, staff also use Zoom and subject-specific apps in order to offer live-streaming of lessons as well as downloadable resources and pre-recorded play-pause tutorial videos, plus enabling interaction with peers for collaborative opportunities and pastoral purposes.
Our Digital Learning Platform offers:
- the full Davenies curriculum;
- facility to join pastoral events and Form Periods;
- an exciting Digital Co-Curricular Activity Programme with a flexible offering that pupils can opt in to on any day, including Saturday and Sunday;
- a challenging PE & Games offer that aims to bring safe, fun and purposeful physical learning right into our boys’ living rooms and gardens.
The ongoing challenges presented by Coronavirus (COVID-19) are new for us all, but collaborative working and supporting each other is at the heart of the Davenies community. As we delve into the realms of remote learning, we see this as an opportunity to embrace the possibilities, to work in a new, exciting way and to keep striving for the good of all.
