Reindeer at Davenies: Read All About It!
Boys in the Junior School became newspaper reporters for the Davenies Times as they pieced together the story of the overnight arrival of reindeer…
Armed with their newspaper reporter’s notepad, each group visited various places around school where they listened and looked at the situation to decide what they thought might have happened to create their own newspaper report.
Along their journey to the truth, our intrepid reporters discovered elf and reindeer prints by the Chess Set and presents strewn on the Playing Fields, they listened to answer machine messages left by alarmed elves at the School Office an telephoned Father Christmas and his elf, Forest Pepperlog, in the North Pole, as well as interviewed the Headmaster in his Study after his dog, Buster, found some jingle bells on their walk into school! The boys had the opportunity to take notes throughout and jot down any quotes before writing their own version of events.
To round up a festively fascinating day, Years 3 and 4 relished the opportunity to hear all about the reindeers’ life cycle.
