Staff Run 10k for Macmillan
In the warm autumn sunshine, six Davenies staff braved the Henley 10k to help raise funds for cancer support care.
In support of Macmillan, a charity that is close to many hearts, a coffee morning is usually held in the staff room each September where staff are invited to share each other’s baked delights. Owing to restrictions, however, Davenies’ very own staff bake off has had to be put on hold this year. Undeterred by this challenge, and endeavoring to show their support for Macmillan, however, Miss Bell, Mrs Clarke, Mrs Davies, Mrs McIntosh, Mrs Prentice and Mrs Waiting donned their running shoes to tackle the Thames Path Challenge to raise money in an alternative way. Collectively, they ran, jogged and walked 60k in total, and have so far raised over £1,700 – smashing their £500 target. Congratulations to them all.
