Year 2’s Splendiferous trip to the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery
Year 2 had a truly inspiring trip to the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery in Aylesbury this week.
The boys listened eagerly to stories about Roald Dahl’s life and how he approached writing. They impressed with their own knowledge and were able to share many facts. There was able opportunity for the boys to practically explore science activities themed around the books from magnifying bugs to mind-bending optical illusions but they particularly enjoyed crawling through Fantastic Mr Fox’s tunnel and imagining they were Augustus Gloop being sucked up the chocolate pipes!
After lunch, the focus was on the BFG as the boys were given time to explore the Bucks County Museum to find unusual objects which might feature in their dreams. They each mixed a dream in a bottle and wrote a suitable label, all of which they were thrilled to be able to bring back with them.
