Year 5 Explore School Wildlife Garden
As part of their learning about Habitats, Year 5 had the opportunity to explore the School’s very own Wildlife Garden.
Situated in the heart of the School grounds, between the Newton and the Tennant Buildings, the Wildlife Garden is home to many local animals and insects, providing a wealth of learning opportunities to enhance the boys’ learning beyond the classroom. In order to help them with their understanding of Habitats, Year 5 they were fortunate enough to be able to visit our Wildlife Garden to explore different habitats and see which plants and animals live there.
Furthermore, they were able to view a pond sample, and the living things in it, kindly taken by the Site Team from the pond at the front of the School. The boys displayed great enthusiasm and a good deal of courage when exploring. They also took some measurements of the trees in the garden to estimate their ages, which would appear to be well over 100 years old!
