Year 8 go back to Year 1 to recreate History
Some Year 8 boys visited Year 1 this week to deliver a rather special lesson on Castles.
The boys re-enacted the Battle of Hastings, with Nicholas Townsend perfecting his French accent to take on the role of William the Conqueror!
Following the drama, boys then worked in small groups completing a variety of challenging tasks including creating shields, labelling the features of a castle, sequencing the events of the Battle of Hastings and sorting weapons into different categories.
The Year 8 boys relished the opportunity to be creative in designing their own tasks as well as interacting with the younger boys: Year 1 are now well on their way to becoming enthusiastic and curious Historians!
