2017 Old Davenian Reunion

Davenies was delighted to welcome back many former pupils, who are about to embark on the next stage in their careers having finished Senior School, for an afternoon of reminiscing about their school days.

The Old Boys, who left Davenies in Year 8 in 2017 or Year 6 in 2015, were an impressive sight being significantly taller and much larger than when at Davenies. The School photos and Buzz magazines from their time at school caused much amusement as they recalled the sports teams and many activities they were involved in, and which were captured within these pages. After some reminiscing, James Mason and Alex Iliffe, took their peers on a tour of the School, while their parents were taken on a similar tour by Deputy Head, Mr Cooke. On their return the Old Boys went outside for a game of football just as the heavens opened. However, despite heavy rain, their enthusiasm remained undiminished and on they played. Eventually we called time, and an extremely wet group of young men dripped into the Dining Room to consume more cake.

It was a pleasure to see our Old Boys return to Davenies and to hear of their future plans. What was particularly heartwarming to learn was that this event was the catalyst for more gatherings both throughout the ensuing weekend, with golf followed by a meal a few days later.
