Bringing Havana to Beaconsfield, the Davenies community donned their best attire for a night of Cuban delights.
The evening began with drinks and a formal welcome from the Headmaster, in which he highlighted the aim of the evening – to raise funds for the House charities: Go Beyond, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, The Christian Eye Foundation and Young Minds. Following this, School’s long-standing and extremely fun ‘Heads or Tails’ game, in which participants strive to be the last one standing by answering questions with their hands either on their head or bottom, had everyone off their seats.
Diners enjoyed flavours galore at a three course dinner, prepared by Thomas Franks before the hammer came down on the Silent Auction, in which bidders could win a range of items kindly donated by our local community, from one week in a chalet in Morzine, to an inflatable nightclub, raising over £35,000. Our Casa Band covering well-known tunes with a Latino vibe, provided fantastic live entertainment and many a meringue was seen on the dance floor!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the evening, and special thanks to the FoD Ball Committee for organising such a fantastic event.
