La Fete De La Musique
Thursday saw a whole morning committed to celebrating language. We were treated to an assembly, hosted by Year 8, which showcased French, Spanish, Italian, German and Greek and we had songs, ensembles, poems and even some rapping! Our Pre-Prep sang us a song in French and Year 3 played a french piece on their recorders.
Once we were all excited for language, the Year 8 boys planned and delivered a languages lesson to Years 2 and 3. There was great excitement and a wonderful novelty factor in having older boys teach and the younger boys engaged enthusiastically! We are absolutely sure the boys finished their day knowing at least one or two new words in a different language!
Lunch was a continental feast with a food symbolic of each of the languages and boys, and staff, were enjoyed hand bells performances, and songs from our students and staff in a different language.
What a wonderful day! Thank you to Madam Chamberlain for all her hard work in bringing her idea to life.
