Reception Become Flights Explorers

Reception became flight explorers for the day with their trip to the RAF museum in Hendon.

At the RAF museum in Hendon, the boys had an opportunity to learn about how flight has evolved from the first inventions without engines to the extremely fast aircrafts we have in service today.  We enjoyed looking at the basic mechanics of early aircraft and the high technology that goes into making the fastest jets in the world.  The children were exposed to some very cool vocabulary including, turbo engines, thrust, aerodynamics as well as the names for the different parts of a plane.  What a fantastic day!
