Shiplake Day of the Dead Clay Workshop

A number of Year 7 and 8 boys travelled to Shiplake College where they participated in a Day of the Dead clay workshop.

Upon arrival, our artists were treated to a delicious lunch where they had the opportunity to meet with the Head of Department, Ms Jenkins and learn more about art at Shiplake. Following a fascinating tour with Shiplake’s art scholars, Mrs Newell, Davenies’ Head of Art, and Ms Jenkins conducted a clay Day of the Dead workshop with the boys. The results were superb and they even ordained their clay slabs with glass frit. Watch this space for the final product once they have been fired! The boys had an inspirational afternoon of art.
