17th Primary Schools’ Football Festival

The 17th Primary Schools’ Football Festival attracted 12, mixed teams from local primary schools, all showing off their considerable skills, good sportsmanship and enthusiasm on a beautifully sunny afternoon!

Each of the 12 teams played six friendly games of seven minutes one way with a three minute rest and change over in between each game. The referees were quick to comment on the high standard of play and, in particular, the outstanding goalkeeping all of whom had to contend with some expertly placed and powerful goal-bond shots from strikers on form! After the final games, a short presentation ensued for all players and certificates for schools followed by a well-earned tea – the squishy footballs and doughnuts competed for best prize of the day.
