Davenies School

Stowe Art Festival

Five Davenies artists attended the prestigious Stowe Prep School Arts Festival for an inspiring day of art-making.

Along with pupils from thirteen other schools, Charlie, Deo, Leonardo, Nic and Tom spent the day at Stowe, commencing with an etching workshop in the Watson Building which enabled them to explore new techniques and tools to create some amazing prints. The boys then had the opportunity to look at plastic pollution within our oceans and use junk modelling to create deep sea creatures. In the third workshop, Charlie, Deo, Leonardo, Nic and Tom created stencils and used water based spray paint to create huge canvasses of sea life. The final workshop explored technology and art where the boys used VR headsets to ‘paint’ on the walls with the artist in residence. It was a fantastic opportunity for our boys to spend the day at a senior school and learn new skills to develop their art further.
