52nd London Area Athletics at Eton

An exceptionally hot day welcomed all London Area athletes from more than 20 schools to the Thames Valley Stadium, Eton.

In its 52nd meeting of its kind, the event is the fore-runner for selection to the National Prep Schools Athletics Finals at Pingles Stadium, Nuneaton on 3rd July. Davenies was represented across all age groups with athletes reaching the required entry standards in the 100m, 200m, 1500m, Shot Put and Long Jump. Event winners automatically qualify with other available places made up from the best of the rest, if national qualifying standards have been reached. Particular congratulations to Oscar, who won the U14 Shot Put with a throw of 9.71m. George (U13 Shot Put) was second in his event, whilst Angus (U14 1500m) was also second in his gruelling race. James finished a highly creditable 3rd in the U12 1500m race.

We are delighted that both Oscar and George will represent at the London Area Athletics Team at the National Finals in July. Good luck to them both.

Well done to everyone who participated. It is always a highly competitive meeting with some exceptional athletes showing their speed, strength and agility.
