Primary Schools’ Cricket Festival
Ten schools from across the county came together bringing their eager, Year 4 teams of boys and girls to play cricket on the playing fields at Davenies.
Ably assisted by an umpiring team of Davenies’ staff, each team played four, six-a-side games in which the hits were high, catches won matches and the excitement fizzled and squealed throughout a really fun afternoon. Each team wore their team t-shirts with pride and they took away a certificate stating how well they had represented their schools both on and off the pitch. Hot dogs and doughnuts rounded off an energetic afternoon of festival cricket. Mr Thomas thanked all the players for their efforts, enthusiasm and good sportsmanship and the many spectators for their encouraging support of all teams.
