A Chilly Blue Pig Café
On a cold and misty winter morning, 13 boys assembled at the Sainsbury’s Gate to sell lovely breakfast items to Davenies boys and parents at the Blue Pig Café. Here, Sean and Zachary tell us about such a morning…
The boys came in early to wrap pain au chocolate and bacon butties, assemble the beautiful bacon breakfast snack and the vegan items. Seven courageous boys then braved the chilly winter weather of that frosty morning to push out trolleys, stocked to the brim with these perfectly made items. The boys inside did some finishing touches whilst the others were setting up hot chocolate stations and putting the food on the right stands in the right place. During the sale, hot chocolate warmed our customers, the butties were devoured, and the pain au chocolate – served warm and soft – were savoured.
Thank you to the brilliant parents and boys in the younger years who also braved the cold. Year 8 worked hard to make money for the School charities, but moreover we enjoyed it and everybody praised the work that we put into it.
