Drake’s Triathlon with a Twist
Drake House took on a challenge to complete a Triathlon with a twist: to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
Working in groups that involved boys from Reception up to Year 8, all boys (supported ably by the staff) in Drake had one hour to run 250 shuttle laps, solve a nine-letter word puzzle having followed clues around an exciting treasure trail around the site, and complete a collage of the Davenies shield. Not only were these activities an exciting mix of creativity, problem-solving and athletics, they also provided the chance to support GOSH’s aim to help make a child’s stay in hospital as fun as it can be, and collectively Drake have raised £1,309 in sponsorship. Unsurprisingly, the boys were brilliant, and in the name of such a good cause, they got stuck into everything with enthusiasm and a strong sense of togetherness, as the older boys lead their groups, ensuring that all team members were included and could contribute to the overall success of the event.
Well done Drake House!
