The A teams from Colts, U12s and U13s had the opportunity to embark on Davenies’ annual football tour, where they received coaching from Premier League coaches, played matches against other schools, tour a world-famous stadium and watched the professionals themselves play a live Premier League match.
The first stop of the tour was at The Sir Jack Hayward training complex, home of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. The facilities were impeccable, and the boys had an incredible time practising on the same fields as some of the Premier League stars they see on the television. The coaches were knowledgeable and supportive, and the boys learned a lot from the experience. In addition to the training session, the boys were given a stadium tour of Molineux, which was an unforgettable experience. They got to see behind the scenes of one of the most iconic football stadiums in the UK, and the boys were thrilled to see the pitch up close and personal.
Our budding footballers also had the opportunity to play fixtures against local sides, which were challenging but enjoyable. The opposition teams were friendly and welcoming, and a great time was had playing against them.
One of the highlights of the tour was attending the Wolves v Spurs match. It was an incredible experience to see a Premier League game live, and the boys were buzzing with excitement throughout the match. The atmosphere was electric, and they all – boys and staff included – all felt incredibly lucky to be there. Some even took the opportunity to don their newly purchased Wolves shirts to further show their support.
Overall, the Football Tour was a fantastic experience for everyone involved. The boys had a great time both on and off the pitch, creating memories to last a lifetime.
