Handbells Ring in Festive Season for Beaconsfield
Ringing in the festive season, the Senior Handbells started their Christmas concert season at the switching-on of Beaconsfield Old Town Christmas Lights.
Taking place at the roundabout at the Wycombe end of the Old Town with stalls selling hot chocolate, light hoops and all sorts of Christmas goodies, this was a lovely event where nostalgic Christmas music rang out and everywhere was lit up. There was even fake snow on the ground! It was a lovely mini Christmas market.
The Town Crier was present as were various local dignitaries and most important of all there were Davenies’ loyal ‘Groupies’ (parents) who helped carry the paraphernalia and made sure everyone was where they needed to be, and set up ready to ring on time.
Despite a wet evening – and some rather dampened sheet music – spirits remained high as the Handbells team performed seasonal classics. All of the boys did Davenies proud and a big thanks goes to their ‘Groupies’ for their support and patience in what was of course a hugely enjoyable evening!
