IAPS Triathlon Championships

An exceptional effort was made by our Triathletes who attended the IAPS Triathlon Championships at Monkton Combe Prep School in Bath.

It was a beautiful day in Somerset as Freddie, Finn (U10), Connor, William, Henry (U11) and Jackson (U12)  were well prepared with swim gear, bikes and running shoes. The racing was fast, gruelling and fun with swim lengths starting at 150m for Year 5, rising to 300m for Year 8, followed by cycle distances ranging between 2k and 6k. If that was not enough, it was off bikes in transition to switch to running in rising temperatures and hilly terrain to complete courses between 1.2k and 2.4k. Quite an achievement to finish in one piece and smiling, but all the Davenies’ competitors planned and executed great races with fast times and maximum effort. No podium finishes, but a great experience that can be built on for next time!
