Pangbourne College Piano Festival Debut
Davenies pianists made their debut at The Pangbourne Piano Festival, and hit all the right notes.
This was the Festival’s 10th anniversary but the first time Davenies boys have taken part. They all played beautifully and their performances were enhanced by the wonderful Steinway grand pianos provided for the occasion. It was a fabulous experience for the boys and an excellent opportunity to be able to perform in public and to share their music with children and parents from other schools. It was extremely brave of them to perform in unfamiliar surroundings, to an unknown audience and to have their performances judged and critiqued in public by the adjudicator; however we are delighted that they all rose to the occasion. Here are the marks they were awarded:
Novice, 9 years & under (Grade 1 to 2)
Dhruv Ramrakha – Highly Commended
Solo Intermediate, 10 years & under (Grades 3 to 4)
Sebastian Shelton, First Place – Outstanding
