Davenies School

Primary Schools Cricket Festival

Eight primary schools attended the Davenies 2022 Cricket Festival, dodging the showers as deftly as they played their off drives!

With colourful t-shirts and unfettered enthusiasm, teams of six from Butlers Court, Chalfont St Giles, Chartridge, Farnham Common, Little Chalfont, Long Crendon, St. Mary’s, Beaconsfield and St. Mary’s, Farnham Royal played softball, pairs games on four specially prepared wickets. Boys and girls from Year 4 showed off their improving skills and game understanding as the afternoon went on. Judging by the numbers of fours and sixes scored, their confidence to hit the ball hard also grew! Each team played four festival games with sportsmanship at the forefront of all their efforts. Certificates were presented to each school, followed by a tea of doughnuts and hotdogs which were much enjoyed by all the players, whilst parents relaxed with tea and cake.

A wonderfully enthusiastic afternoon of cricket activity was enjoyed by all!
