Scrum-believable Rugby Progress

As the Autumn Term comes to a close, Harris reflects on the rugby season and in particular, the final match of the U13 1st team…

This Autumn Term, the Davenies Year 8 rugby squads have worked incredibly hard and done amazingly well in all their matches. There has been a huge improvement throughout the year groups, especially for our U13 1st team who recently played their final rugby match for Davenies.

As a team we showed great determination, teamwork and made progress in our skill set throughout the term. Notable matches include Belmont and Aldwickbury, but our match of the season was certainly our game against The Beacon. It was an incredible match where all players showed teamwork and determination against very challenging opposition. Both sides played some outstanding rugby and Davenies managed to win a hard-fought game 4-2! It was an enormous victory for the U13 1st team and a great way to end our rugby careers at Davenies.

Thank you to Mr Allen for coaching us and to Ben Ruddick for being a brilliant Captain, leading the team well and setting a great example both on and off the pitch.
