Year 1 Immersed in a Thousand Years of History
As part of their Castles Topic, Year 1 enjoyed a visit to Warwick Castle, where they were immersed in a thousand years of jaw-dropping history.
The boys visited all areas of this wonderful castle including the castle walls, the Great Hall and the kitchens. They had the opportunity to find out about what life in a medieval castle was like and explored who would have lived and worked in and around the castle. They then compared and contrasted the different roles in medieval Warwick Castle to life today. To round off a thoroughly immersive day, Year 1 also enjoyed a spectacular and fascinating birds of prey show, where the Castle’s expert Falconer demonstrated the birds’ incredible skills and inspiring stories.
