School Community Organises Aid Appeal for Ukraine
The Davenies Community once again embodied our school motto – each striving for the good of all – by working together to support those in need in Ukraine.
In response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine following Russian invasion, a food, supplies and clothing appeal was organised by our parent body and meals prepped by our very own Catering team. Through the sales of cakes, Ukranian-themed handmade Easter cards, origami figurines and games such as ‘guess the weight of the potato’ (surprisingly hard!) and ‘guess the number of sweets in a jar’, Year 6 raised £550.
Added to this, a collection by the Friends of Davenies of UK and foreign currencies amounted to over 26 kilos of currency, which is well over £1,200, bringing the total to £1,750 for the British Red Cross – Ukrainian Appeal.
Thank you to the Davenies Community for supporting the boys’ efforts and embodying our school motto.
