Teamwork at the Blue Pig Café

The Blue Pig sees our Year 8 boys plan, prepare and run an early morning Café to generate profit for the Friends of Davenies and House Charities. It is an integral part of the Senior School experience at Davenies which enhances the boys’ transferable skills, and here, William tells of his experience…

The second Blue Pig of the year, managed by the Year 8 boys, ran successfully once again. It was my first time helping at the Blue Pig Café but it was an unforgettable experience of teamwork, communication, and other skills. And, in the process we were raising money for the charity of Friends of Davenies. We managed to sell out our hot chocolate and I would like to thank Thomas Franks for donating the bacon to make our bacon buttes, and the parents who organised it. So my experience at the Blue Pig Café was a rewarding one that all boys in Year 8 should try to do at least once.
