Primary Schools’ Football Festival
One hundred visiting pupils from local Primary Schools joined us at Davenies for an afternoon of festival football where they played some thrilling matches in brilliant sunshine.
Ten teams played seven games against each other including schools from Chalfont St. Giles, Holtspur, Little Chalfont, Chalfont St. Peter, Chartridge, St. Mary’s, Beaconsfield and Long Crendon. Thirty games were played across four pitches with over seventy goals being scored. It was a high tempo, end-to-end action, non-stop two hours of fun football. The players’ team work, skillful play (including some fantastic goalkeeping) and enthusiasm was applauded by spectators.
A hotdog and doughnut tea for all the players and a cup of tea was well-earned by all the visitors. The presentation of medals, bouncy balls (very popular!) and a certificate for each attending school rounded off a great afternoon.
